2- After installing the drivers Connect the USB adapter cable into the computer,follow these steps to open the device manager:     -From the start screen,push and hold the windows key( and then press "x" on your keyboard.Choose "Device manager" from the menu that pops up.   3- Look down the list of items for the "ports" category. click the arrow to the left of "ports" to expand the category. The USB adapter will show as "Prolific USB-to-Serial..." followed by the assigned COM port number: - If an error is not shown   then the driver is installed correctly - do NOT follow the rest of this guide. 4-If there is a small error icon with an exclamation mark as shown here, Windows installed the wrong driver and you need follow the rest of this guide.

5- You need to force this driver version by going to device manager
Right click “Prolific USB- to- Serial Comm port” and click” Update software”

6- Click “Browse my computer for driver software” to locate and install driver software manually.

7- You just click the bottom option “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer” to show the list of installed driver software compatible with the device.

8- From the list of installed drivers. Look for the driver version. 3.3.2.102 click it to select and click Next to continue.

9- Windows will then install the driver to the system.

10- Wait until Windows has successfully updated your driver software. Click close when finished.

11- You will now see the “Prolific USB- to-Serial Comm port” is installed properly. Right click properties the device again to confirm the driver version.
Note: Please remember to use the cable in the same USB port on your computer - otherwise you will need to perform this procedure again.
